My Archive of Moments of Happiness

Sometimes I get my notebook and write them down, the little moments of happiness. And then I turn it back and am amazed and touched. It has become a treasure chest. One that you can unpack if you’re looking for a pinch of luck.

It has become thick over the decades, this book. And there is no table of contents. It is there for leafing through, for browsing, for the chance finds.

The thing about the notebook, that’s the cappuccino of writing, Simone Wystemp answers me in my comment under her post ( https://lnkd.in/gKy2R2Ca).

My formulations are short and sometimes cryptic, but I immediately have the situation in mind when I write….
✳️ With her, everything becomes an experience, whether in the supermarket or on the treadmill
✳️ Pure fun today: The small hunger at the gas station or how to enjoy the hot dogs with the four of us
✳️ I am amazed at her calmness, serenity and ability to sleep in the car.
✳️ I enjoy swinging down the slopes with her. She is so fast, so elegant.
✳️ Despite the defeat, I see her development and hear her words: “Wonderful that you’re here, Dad!”

My notebook is a silent celebration of the moment, the small amazement in everyday life. It describes those inconspicuous moments that are full of warmth, closeness and real life. It’s the casual scenes that have a soul.

I carefully guard my archive of moments of happiness. It not only preserves memories, but also brings them to life at any time.

To use Simone’s metaphor again: This is the cappuccino of life. Sometimes strong, sometimes gentle, and always with an aftertaste that lasts.
