If you think nothing works anymore, then a curve ball comes in from somewhere.
And yesterday this curve ball came as a corner ball in the 2nd minute of injury time.
I experienced my active football career in the districts of Tübingen / Reutlingen, very close to Stuttgart. And I passed the exam for my football coaching license at the Landessportschule in Stuttgart-Ruit. That connects me to the Bundesliga team of VfB Stuttgart.
It’s been a long time since a VfB flag was seen at our entrance of our house here in Frankfurt. In 2007 that was after the surprising win of the German championship. And today.
That moment yesterday afternoon appealed to me emotionally. The team narrowly escaped the descent into the 2nd division and yet I observed a lot of positive things with the team.
- Resurrection after defeats
- A fearless team with a belief in itself
- Belief in the correctness of the chosen path
- Courage, faith and self-confidence.
Pick yourself up, set a goal, stick to the basics, be self-confident, be brave and never, really never give up, that’s my motto after setbacks. And this is just as true in business as it is in sports.
And with you? Do you know examples where learning experiences in sports can be transferred to working life?
