Digital Contacts, real Encounters: My SIETAR Moment

There are these moments that build a bridge between the digital world and personal encounters. For me, the SIETAR Forum was just such a moment. I already knew many participants virtually via LinkedIn. But now I was meeting them, live in person.

Step by step, I completed the transfer from the digital person “Bernd Scharbert” to the person I am. And it was precisely this process that made the encounters so moving.

Highlights that stay –
✳️ The location and ambience were perfect for stimulating conversations and provided the perfect setting for networks to grow.
✳️ Lunch on the terrace in real exchange with Vanessa Paisley was more than just a break.
✳️ Deep conversations on the sidelines of the poster session built bridges to my own topic.
✳️ Relaxed moments before my session through the conversations with other speakers in room 1 calmed my nerves and gave me serenity.

My highlight: Five minutes before my talk, I heard the murmuring outside the room. Many wanted to be there. The seats were not enough, the door remained open. For me, this was a strong sign of appreciation, for my topic and for me personally.

My presentation on the guiding principles for intercultural leadership not only found an audience, but a real response. It was a moment to enjoy. It strengthened my opinion that humanity is the key to global leadership.

For me, the SIETAR Forum was a place of real encounter, exchange and transformation. I made contacts, built bridges and felt how important it is to combine digital identity with personal encounters.

➡️ And now I’m interested: Which encounter has inspired you most recently – digitally or in person?
